Hello Everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! Today, I am starting a new series on the blog, my “FRIDAY FAVORITES”. Every other Friday, I will be giving you a list of all of my favorites from the past 14 days. This will include food, beauty/hair products, clothing items, other bloggers, music, experiences, and so much more. My hope for this series is to act as a friend that is recommending some of her newest finds in hope that you will like them too!
So, since moving home, the food situation has been really difficult. My mostly plant based diet doesn’t really fit well with my family’s carnivorous habits. Thankfully though, I was able to snag a few veg finds while at Kroger.
After being fairly disappointed at the non-dairy dessert selection at one of the Wegman’s that we stopped at on the way back from NY, I was soooooooooooooo happy to find out that my local Kroger sells my favorite non-dairy ice cream. So Delicious makes the most amazing vegan icecream, and my favorite is the Dark Chocolate Truffle Cashewmilk Ice cream. The cashewmilk is my favorite, because it is creamier than coconutmilk. The dark chocolate flavor is also the richest ice cream I have ever had, so you only need a few bites at a time.
My other food favorite would be Morning Star’s Spicy Black Bean Burgers. They are so yummy and so easy to make as well. They have instructions for basically any type of cooking method you could think of. These burgers are perfect to eat in a bun or to break up and mix in with a stew.
BEAUTY AND HAIR FAVORITES
With being in and out of the sun/water all month, I have definitely had to step up my beauty routine. I have such trouble rememberin to wear sunscreen, and when I swim, I feel like it all washes off anyways. That means that after-sun care has jumped way up on the priority list. My favorite product for that is Australian Gold Tan Extender. It is a lotion that contains Aloe and it smells AMAZING! On a similar note, my hair has been getting dry from the pool and I have been using the Not Your Mother’s Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Leave in Conditioner. I was sent this to try for free by Influenster, and I am so glad that I was because it is amazing. The spray bottle makes it easy to apply, it smells so good, and it moisturizes my hair without leaving it oily.
I have been on a major hunt for songs lately because I have dance camps coming up. Here are a few songs that I am now obsessed with.
Once I got back from NY, I finally had enough space to lay out all of my things in order to learn how to sew. I started with an “easy” pattern for beginners, and had my mom and Liam’s grandmother assist me. The dress turned out really well, and it was such an eye opener to how much I have to learn. Afterwards, I ended up making this trendy off the shoulder top! I also was able to pick up my Grandma Frances’ patterns yesterday, and I cannot wait to try some out! Make sure to subscribe to follow my sewing journey. 🙂
Another fun experience from the past couple weeks was hanging out with my Granda in Florida. How could he NOT be a favorite?!?! It’s always so nice to be able to spend time with him and I was able to visit for nearly a week. While I was there, I was able to make him a railing for the stairs down to the beach. I know it will help him a ton in doing his daily beach cleaning.
Like I said before, I want this to be a conversation like you would have with a friend. If you have any favorites you want to share, please leave them in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe in the sidebar to get weekly updates. I’ll see you next time!
